Easter

Happy Easter!
Today was Sophie's 2nd Easter. It was so much fun watching how excited she was about her Easter basket this year, since last year she lost interest after two minutes. Sophie went straight for her basket this year and started digging in. She ignored the books and toys in the basket and went straight for the chocolate. Every single tiny piece was picked out and handed to Joe and me. Each piece she pulled from the basket would get an ecstatic, "Choc-yate!" or "Ohhhhhh!" We couldn't help but laugh at her.

Sophie was a good girl at church. Her favorite thing is looking up in the choir loft to find her Grandma. She kept waving to her and holding her arms up (as if this would get Grandma to come down and pick her up). Sophie was even able to meet her new friend, Colt, today at church! She was very excited to see the baby and really wanted to touch him. She wasn't too happy with me when I asked her not to (she glared at me). I don't blame her for wanting to touch him as he is so adorable!

After church we went over to Joe's Aunt and Uncle's house for lunch and family time. Sophie enjoyed being around everyone, especially her cousins and Grandparents. She was happiest when she was in her Grandma or PawPaw's arms. For lunch I had a plate full of food for Sophie to try. The only thing she was interested in was the carrots sticks. How this kid knows to go for the things with the least amount of calories, I will never know. She did eat a sucker later on though, so she isn't completely healthy. After lunch was an Easter egg hunt for the little kids. Sophie was not a fan of walking in the grass. I noticed this a few weeks ago, but didn't think much of it. Joe walked around with her though and helped her find some eggs. At least she would pick up the eggs that weren't in the grass on her own.

After a quick nap at home, we went over to my parent's house. Sophie was so excited to see her PawPaw. It is sickening sweet. She was also excited to see her cousin, Kaci, whom she calls Kiki. They always have a good time playing together. Sophie enjoyed yet another Easter egg hunt. Kaci was nice and let Sophie find all of the eggs that weren't in the grass, while she gathered all of those in the grass. Mostly though it was my dad and mom who did the hunting of the eggs for Sophie. She would point at one and they would go off and get it. At dinner, Sophie lasted 5 minutes in her chair before requesting that my dad hold her. At least she ate off of his plate.

This was such a wonderful day. I am so thankful for my family!
