Josie is 10 Months Old

My sweet little 10 month old is currently sleeping on the couch next to me, most likely with another ear infection or the start of a cold. Whatever it is, she isn't feeling the best. I hate when she feels cruddy!

My sweetie pie is in size 3 diapers and 6 month/6-9 month clothes. I have been putting away a lot of the 6 month pants because they are getting to be too short on her.

Josie's 4th tooth, the right upper central incisor, has sprouted this month (November 13th). She looks so different now that she has 4 teeth! It is so adorable to see her smile and show off her gappy top teeth. When she chatters (usually saying some form of 'dada') she sticks her lower jaw out so that we can see her bottom teeth. While I miss that little gummy smile of Josie's from a few months ago, I am loving her new toothy grin.

Besides the 4 teeth that Josie has now, she has at least 2 more on the way. I bet they will burst through her gums in a week or so. We discovered a tasty treat for her to help with teething pain - cucumbers! She loves them and it seems to help soothe the pain of her gums.

Josie is crawling all over the place nowadays. She is still just army crawling, but at a considerable speed. The blankets that we used to put down for her to play on are just going to be for staying warm now; she crawls right off of it! She gets up on all fours a lot and rocks back and forth. She has crawled and scooted this way a few times, but army crawling is much faster for her. If you put something on the floor that she likes she will zip over to it. It is hilarious watching her with this little bumpy yellow ball that we have. She will pick it up, pass it around in her hands, drop it, crawl over to where it rolled to and do it all over again.

Now that she crawls faster and farther, Josie has been exploring our house. She spent 45 minutes crawling around the kitchen the other day. She was so excited when she found all of the Leap Frog letter magnets on our fridge. Her favorite place to explore is my bathroom (don't worry, the toilet is in a separate room). When I get ready in the morning she used to just play in the bedroom with her toys. Now she crawls into the bathroom and giggles as she glides across the floor. She loves when I pick her up and let her see her reflection in the mirror.

Josie is becoming quite the chatterbox. Her favorite thing to repeat over and over is 'dada.' It is so darn cute. I love hearing that sweet little voice babbling away. I just wish that she would say 'mama' again, but I will just have to be patient.

Josie not only celebrated her first Halloween, but also her first Thanksgiving this month. She was a good sport about being in her Halloween costume. I wish that the weather would have been better so that I could have taken her with Sophie while she went trick-or-treating, but there is always next year. At both of our Thanksgiving celebrations Josie played and snuggled with family. She enjoyed some baby food, but did not want anything to do with 'real' food, such as mashed potatoes.
Josie is sitting up pretty consistently now. She used to get bored of it after a minute or two and then get down on her belly to crawl around. Now she will sit up playing for a long time. She has no interest in standing/pulling up, cruising, or using sippy cups. When we try to stand her up she will get bored after a few seconds and bend her knees so she can sit down. She will do it when she is ready. We will keep working on it with her until she feels brave enough to start doing it on her own.

I absolutely love watching Josie and Sophie together. They are so adorable together! Sophie is constantly hugging Josie, talking sweetly to her, helping her, and playing with her. Josie always wants to be around Sophie and touch at her. Of course that usually means she is grabbing at her hair or face, but that is just how she shows affection at this age. Sophie makes Josie laugh all the time. All she has to do is say "boo boo boo" and Josie will crack up! Sophie is so proud of herself when she makes Josie laugh. I am always so proud of my girls when I see them getting along. I hope they will always be close like they are now.
Sophie always knows how to make Josie laugh.

I am so in love with this sweet little girl. She has brought so much happiness to our family. We are so blessed to have her in our lives.

Here are some other pictures from this past month:

This picture is from today. The poor thing woke up wailing and finally fell asleep when I brought her down to the couch. Cosmo was so sweet when she snuggled up next to her. I think she likes Josie just as much as Josie likes her.
Trying out some pancakes. She wasn't so sure about them at first, but ended up loving them.
Josie is normally a laid back and happy baby. She is only really fussy like this when she is hungry, sick or overly tired. I think she was a combo of all 3 in this picture.
Cousins! What a crew!
So serious!
Snack time with big sis!
Everything goes in her mouth and gets chewed on! If you aren't paying attention she will bite down on your fingers (or toes). Ouch!
My mom kept Sophie overnight one night, so we went out to eat. Josie was such a good girl! She ate, played, did some people watching, smiled and babbled. It was such a good night!
Cousins - you can definitely see the family resemblance.
