Sophie's Sparkle and Shine 3rd Birthday Party

This cute little girl had a sparkle and shine birthday party! She was so excited about her 'glitter party.'

The Decorations, Favors, and Food

Obviously we had to have lots of glittery things. I found some silver and gold decorations for the front door, porch and inside the house. I also covered a vase and a few picture frames in glitter (and added pictures of Sophie playing with glitter). For party favors I covered a few foam wands in glitter and made glittery paperclip bookmarks. Nothing fancy, but they added some sparkle to the party. We had tacos, fajitas, and nachos for lunch. Sophie's Aunt Sara and Aunt Kathy made her a tasty and pretty gold cake.

 

I made Sophie a sparkly gold tutu and hair bow for her to wear, and she grabbed one of my necklaces to put on, too. She looked so cute and sparkly! (On a side note, we will be picking up glitter from that tutu for months!)

 The Activities
My mom had a small bounce house that she let us borrow for the party. The kids loved it! We were able to put Sophie's birthday present (a trampoline) as well. It was the perfect size for two kids to bounce around in. We also had a shiny star piñata filled with candy. That thing was hard to bust open! Luckily cousin Andrew was finally able to knock the candy out.

Note to self: teach this kid how to hold a baseball bat!

The Presents
Sophie received so many wonderful presents from her friends and family. Books, clothes, toys, and even a sparkly owl! Some of her Aunts went in together and bought her a sand and water table. (After the party and today she begged me to put it together so she could play. She was so happy when I set it up for her.) Sophie was so cute when she would get a new present to open. While most kids would tear right into the present, Sophie would open up the card and 'read' it aloud first. She would always say, "Dear Sophie's birthday party..." and then make up something to finish up what she thought the card said. It was so sweet!

Blowing Out the Candles
Sophie loves singing 'Happy Birthday' and was so happy while everyone sang to her. She smiled the whole time! She blew out all 3 candles in one try and was so proud of herself. I was pretty proud of her as well.
